Amaranth seeds are very high in fibre and minerals like Iron. This fibre helps in slow absorption of starch from the grain which is needed for fat reduction in PCOS


  1. Rajgeera (Amaranth seeds)- 40g
  2. Capsicum- 10g
  3. Bottle gourd -10g
  4. French beans-10g
  5. Carrot- 5g
  6. Cinamon stick- Small piece
  7. Bay leaf -1 Small
  8. Clove- 2 Small
  9. Jeera- 1/2 TSP
  10. Black Sesame seeds -1/2 TSP
  11. Udad Dal- 1 TSP
  12. Coriander Powder- 1/2 TSP
  13. Turmeric Powder- 1/2 TSP
  14. Ginger (Peeled and Shredded) -1 Small pc
  15. Garlic (Minced)- 2 to 3 Pods
  16. Salt -To Taste
  17. Red Chilli Powder -To Taste
  18. Oil- 1 TSP


Method of preparation

  1. Soak Rajgeera for 3 to 4 hours
  2. In a pressure cooker heat oil and add ginger, garlic, jeera, urad dal and sesame seeds. Also add Bay leaf, clove and cinnamon stick.
  3. Now put all chopped vegetables and stir fry for a minute
  4. Add soaked rajgeera and stir fry for a minute, also add salt, turmeric and coriander powder.
  5. Add double the amount of water of the grain and pressure cook till two whistles are done.
  6. Serve hot with dal or veg raita
